The Costa del sol boasts some 300 days of sunshine, so it’s a good idea to have a few trips planned before you depart, make sure none of the sunshine is wasted. Hope these suggestions help you decide your best Duquesa Spain Activities.

Let’s start with the Mijas water park ( Parque Acuatico Mijas ) in Fuengirola, which is said to be the largest one on the Costa del sol. Great water slides, donuts, kids’ pool. Wave pool, restaurants, bars, sun beds. The top photo to the right was taken there. Great whole day out. Best to get there early, to get the sun bed area you want. As they are situated around every attraction, but not all have shelter. Full shopping area outside around it. With some of the major stores.

Fuengirola also has a zoo which contains a mix of crocodiles, gorillas and exotic birds. It is a fairly small zoo, but well laid out, giving a larger feel.

If you love crocodiles then head for the crocodile park in Torremolinos, they have hundreds there.

Another whole day out is the Selwo Adventure Park, where the wild life roam around. There is said to be almost 2000 animals there, including camels, elephants, tigers and lions to name a few. It is not open all year so check first. Mainly open for the school holiday times.

If you prefer the thrill of the amusement park, then head for Tivoli World in Benalmadena, which boasts rides, Flamenco dancers and live music. Along with the usual bar restaurants.

Also in Benalmadena is now one of the main tourist attractions in the Costa del sol, The Benalmadena Cable Car (Teleferico Benalmadena) which carries you up to 800 metres above sea level, so do not forget the camera, especially if it is a clear day. Most tourists tend to ride the cable car up, takes about 15 minutes, and then walk back, as it is downhill. Keep in mind that it may take you  one and a half hours to walk back.

Too hot for the young ones, head off to Kids Kingdom, 20 minutes away, for an indoor activity centre. Where the Kids play in age appropriate areas out of the sun. Children aged 0-9 under parental supervision.

Funny Beach Marbella offers a day on the beach, with jet skis, large waves, bar restaurant, Go Kart track, bungee rope on a trampoline and massage tables. The large picture used as a page header was taken there, also two of the smaller photographs, to give you a real feel for the place. Parking available on a day rate.

Or if you prefer using your holiday to learn how to dive, then head to Pro Dive which has dive centres in Marbella and Estepona. (Estepona being the closest). They offer diving courses for all ages and abilities, up to Padi 5*.
